On April 8, the joint prevention and control mechanism of the State Council held a press conference to introduce the production guarantee of medical materials.

The production capacity of medical materials basically meets the domestic demand.

· As of April 5, disposable medical protective clothing can reach more than 1.5 million pieces per day, and medical N95 masks can reach more than 3.4 million pieces per day.

· As of the end of March, more than 100 countries and international organizations have submitted relevant material requirements to China, involving protective clothing, masks, goggles, and thermometers.

· Up to now, a total of nearly 29000 ventilators have been supplied to the whole country and 18000 ventilators have been supplied to foreign countries.

Cao Xuejun, deputy director of the Consumer Goods Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, said that from the perspective of supply and demand, the production capacity of medical protective clothing, medical protective masks, medical isolation goggles/masks, thermometers and ventilators can basically meet domestic demand, and enterprises are also trying their best to organize and expand exports. As of April 5, the daily output of disposable medical protective clothing can reach more than 1.5 million pieces, the daily output of medical N95 masks can exceed 3.4 million pieces, the number of medical isolation eye masks/masks in key tracking enterprises can reach 290000, the daily output of full-automatic infrared thermometers can reach 10000 sets, and the daily output of hand-held infrared thermometers can reach 400000 sets. At present, the spread of overseas epidemics is accelerating, the domestic epidemic prevention situation is still grim, and the demand for epidemic prevention materials is still large.

In response to the rising global epidemic situation and whether China's massive supply and export of medical supplies can keep up with the rising demand for foreign orders, Huang Libin, spokesman of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and director of the Bureau of Operation Monitoring and Coordination, said that China is a big producer of medical supplies. In the face of the demand for epidemic prevention and control, China's production capacity of all kinds of ventilators, medical protective clothing, medical masks and other key medical supplies has quickly recovered and achieved capacity expansion, it provides strong support for effective prevention and control of the epidemic. While ensuring the prevention and control of the epidemic in their own countries, enterprises have worked overtime to provide support for the global fight against the epidemic and to expand production in accordance with the spread of the global epidemic. However, it should also be noted that in the face of huge international demand, our capacity is also limited, and there are many factors restricting the production capacity of medical materials and the improvement of supply capacity.

For example, the global supply of protective clothing is also restricted by the differences in quality standards and usage habits between China and foreign countries. The current average daily output of protective clothing in China has exceeded 1.5 million sets. In theory, it is not a big problem to meet the needs of the international market. However, these protective clothing are produced in accordance with different quality standard systems such as China, the United States, the European Union, and Japan, and do not fully match the relevant requirements of importing countries and regions.

Regarding the improvement of the reserve efficiency of emergency medical materials in the future, Huang Libin said that he would do a good job in three aspects: first, to give more prominence to the reserve of production capacity and technical reserve, to ensure unified production and rapid production increase in emergencies, and to increase investment in research and development of core technologies and production processes; The second is to adjust and optimize the category and scale of physical reserves, update the classification and reserve catalogue of emergency medical materials dynamically and scientifically according to risk assessment, improve the utilization efficiency of physical reserves; Third, establish a unified reserve system. Hierarchical layout of material reserves, expand the scale of reserves and capital investment, and guide medical institutions and social organizations to expand emergency medical material reserves.
