With the development of economy and the improvement of people's material living standards and the acceleration of the pace of life, spunlace nonwovens and their products, such as dry (soft) towels, wipes, facial mask cloth and other disposable products, rely on the characteristics of simple and convenient use and disposal, quickly integrate into every corner of daily life, providing various conveniences for people's life, but also bringing some environmental problems.
On December 8, 2020, since the establishment of the China Association of Non-woven Green League, it is committed to promoting the green and sustainable development of the nonwovens industry. In early 2021, in view of the product characteristics and environmental impact of spunlaced nonwovens and products, the Non-woven Green League established the group standard "Evaluation of Biodegradation Performance of Spunlaced Nonwovens and Products" in the Middle Industry Association, and actively organized relevant production enterprises, brand merchants, testing institutions and research institutes within the alliance to jointly complete the research and preparation of the standard. At present, the standard has been approved and issued for implementation on May 8. The standard number and standard name are: T/CNITA 23101-2021 "Evaluation of Biodegradation Performance of Spunlaced Nonwovens and Products".

The standard gives the evaluation method of biodegradability of spunlaced nonwovens and products, which helps to promote the application and market supervision of biodegradable spunlaced nonwovens and products in China, and helps to enhance the brand image and brand value of enterprises. And core competitiveness, contribute to the green development of my country's nonwoven industry. Subsequently, the China Industry Association will carry out biodegradable certification of related products according to the standard, and actively promote biodegradable products and certification marks in the non-woven industry, downstream applications and end consumers, and fulfill the social responsibility of the industry.
