Xu Yingxin, vice chairman of the China National Textile and Apparel Council, chairman of the Textile Industry Branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and executive chairman of the China Textile International Capacity Cooperation Enterprise Alliance, said in a speech that the current global political and economic situation is numerous and changeable, facing severe and complex domestic and foreign The environment, the textile industry has withstood pressure, worked hard, and made outstanding contributions in fighting epidemics, stabilizing employment, protecting people's livelihood, and promoting development.
"In 2021, China's textile industry will enter the stage of recovery growth." Xu Yingxin said. Data show that in January-July 2021, the value added of the textile industry above the national scale increased by 8.5 year-on-year, basically returning to the level of development before the epidemic in 2019 and growing slightly.
Domestic demand for textile and clothing commodities also continued to pick up. From January to July 2021, the national sales of clothing, shoes and hats and knitwear goods above the national limit totaled 767.3 billion yuan, up 29.8 percent year-on-year, and the sales scale has exceeded the pre-epidemic level.
From the export side, although the export pull effect of epidemic prevention materials on exports weakened significantly in 2021, but with the general improvement in the export situation of clothing and other products, the total export of textiles and clothing in January-August 2021 exceeded $198.5 billion, an increase of 6.0 percent year-on-year.
Xu Yingxin said that all these achievements are closely related to the textile industry's insistence on building the supply chain foundation of the industrial chain, deepening the supply-side structural reform and transformation and upgrading.
"One of the important reasons why the textile industry remains resilient and dynamic in the face of epidemic adversity is that we have hundreds of thriving industrial clusters and specialized markets across the country, and Dalang is one of the most brilliant performers." Xu Yingxin said.
As one of the first batch of "famous woolen sweater towns in China", the woolen industry in Dalang Town has become one of the largest and most complete woolen industry clusters in China. After more than 40 years of vigorous development, Dalang wool is transforming and upgrading towards high quality. "I believe that under the new development pattern, Da Lang will promote each other's development through domestic and international double cycles, and will continue to rely on sustainable competitive advantages to create more brilliance." Xu Yingxin summarized.
