In the first three quarters of 2020, China's industrial textile industry continued to maintain medium-to-high-speed development, and the industrial value added of enterprises above the industry scale increased by 59.5 year-on-year.

In terms of production, the output of non-woven fabrics of enterprises above designated size reached 4.2759 million tons from January to September, an increase of 14.03 percent over the same period last year; the output of cord fabric was 439500 tons, down 12.43 percent from the same period last year.
In terms of economic benefits, the total operating income and profits of enterprises above designated size in the industry from January to September were 232.303 billion yuan and 28.568 billion yuan respectively, and the operating profit margin was 12.30, an increase of 7.49 percentage points year-on-year. In terms of areas, the nonwovens industry continued to maintain a good momentum of development, with operating income and total profits reaching 128.791 billion yuan and 19.774 billion yuan respectively. The operating profit margin of 15.35 per cent was the highest in the industry, an increase of 10.66 percentage points over the same period last year. The operating income of the rope, cable and cable industries increased by 7.42 compared with the same period last year, and the total profit decreased by 6.98 compared with the same period last year; due to the recovery of downstream markets such as clothing and automobiles and the flow of a large number of textile orders from Southeast Asia to China, although the operating income and total profit of textile belts and cord fabrics decreased by 14.75 and 23.18 respectively compared with the same period last year, the decline is gradually narrowing; the operating income of awnings and canvas decreased by 2.21 compared with the same period last year, while the total profit increased by 15.62 compared with the same period last year, and the profitability of the industry continued to improve in the third quarter; the operating income and total profit of other industrial textiles where medical and health, filtration and geotechnical textiles are located increased by 36.33 and 189.92 respectively, and the operating profit margin reached 12.58, which continued to maintain a high level.
In terms of listed companies, the operating income of listed companies in 30 industries increased by 36.63 year-on-year, and the total profit increased by 176.45 year-on-year. Among them, listed companies in the fields of nonwovens, medical and health textiles, and construction textiles have a good momentum of development.
In terms of exports, from the main export products of the industry, 969000 tons of non-woven fabrics were exported from January to September, with a value of US $3.6 billion, an increase of 26.2 and 57.3 respectively; the export of disposable sanitary products was US $1.606 billion, an increase of 5.77. Exports of anti-epidemic materials continued to grow, including masks of about $43 billion, non-woven protective clothing of $9.464 billion, and medical dressings of $0.699 billion.
