The US "New York Times" recently reported that China's daily production of masks was 10 million in early February, and it soared to 0.116 billion after only four weeks. According to the General Administration of Customs of China, from March 1 to April 4, a total of about 3.86 billion export masks, 37.52 million protective clothing, 2.41 million infrared thermometers, 16000 ventilators, 2.84 million new coronavirus detection reagent boxes and 8.41 million pairs of goggles were released nationwide. The relevant person in charge of the Foreign Trade Department of the Ministry of Commerce also revealed that as of April 4, 54 countries (regions) and 3 international organizations and Chinese companies have signed commercial procurement contracts for medical supplies, and there are also 74 countries and 10 international organizations. The organization is conducting commercial procurement negotiations with Chinese companies.

Contrary to China's opening up to the export of medical supplies, more and more countries are imposing restrictions on the export of masks, ventilators and other supplies. According to a report released by the Global Trade Warning Group of the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland at the end of March, 75 countries and regions have imposed export restrictions on medical supplies. In this context, there are not many countries or regions that export medical supplies. According to media reports, 3M of the United States recently exported masks to Canada and Latin American countries, and New Zealand also sent planes to Taiwan to carry medical supplies. In addition, South Korea, Singapore and other countries also have some masks, testing kits and other foreign exports.

Mr. Lin, the person in charge of a medical supplies manufacturer in Zhejiang, told the Global Times reporter on the 22nd that the global share of masks and protective clothing exported by China is increasing, and only the export volume of individual products such as ventilators has increased less. "Many multinational medical supplies are only labeled with foreign trademarks, but the actual production is still in China". Mr. Lin said that according to the current supply and demand situation in the international market, China is the absolute main force in the export of medical supplies.
