She said, "The Turkish textile industry occupies a special position in the world in terms of product quality, being a trend leader and a pioneer in the application of new technologies. The textile industry is also a leading industry in terms of GDP share and local investment, a characteristic that forms the basis of the Turkish textile industry in the global market."

Pernar quoted data as saying that in 2018, Turkey accounted for 3% of total global textile exports, 4.5 of global exports in household and interior textiles, and 1.5 of global exports in technical textiles. Turkey is the third largest textile exporter in Europe, the fourth largest clothing supplier in Europe, the seventh largest clothing exporter in the world and the fourth largest interior textile exporter in the world. It is also the seventh largest cotton producer in the world.

The reporter learned that China and Turkey have increasingly close ties in textile trade. "China is Turkey's third largest trading partner and its largest trading partner in East Asia. In 2018, China was Turkey's 16th largest export partner and second largest import partner (after Russia). In terms of the textile industry, China is an important exporter and major importer of Turkey." said Pernard.

Perner said in detail that Turkey exports wool, staple fiber, cotton, rayon, textile fabrics, impregnated fabrics, coated fabrics, covering fabrics, laminated fabrics, industrial textiles, etc. in terms of imported home textiles, the product categories most popular with chinese consumers include furniture decoration fabrics, curtain fabrics, knitted curtains, tulle and textile products with strips or patterns, towels, tablecloths, bed sheets and bedspreads. Turkey mainly imports rayon (tape), man-made textile materials, man-made staple fibers, knitted or crocheted fabrics, impregnated fabrics, coated fabrics, covering fabrics, laminated fabrics, industrial textiles, etc.

As the main person in charge of the Uluda Textile Exporters Association, Pernar said that the association was established in Bursa in 1986, with more than 2290 members, and its business covers all continents, including the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, Spain, Egypt, etc. More than 160 countries and regions. By the end of 2018, the total exports of the association's members reached $1.27 billion billion. The association also regularly organizes industry conferences, seminars, international R & D exchanges and represents Turkey at international fairs.

"We have participated in many exhibitions, such as the China International Textile Fabrics and Accessories Expo held in Shanghai." Pernar said that China is the meeting place of many important centers. Turkish companies not only communicate with Chinese customers, but also establish contacts with new customers in the United States, Japan, South Korea and other countries and regions.
