From January to May 2019, the profit of the national textile industry increased by 3.2

From January to May, the total profits of industrial enterprises above the national scale reached 2379.02 billion billion yuan, down 2.3 percent from the same period last year (calculated on a comparable basis, taking into account the adjustment of the caliber stipulated by the statistical system, the enhancement of statistical law enforcement, the elimination of duplicate data, the divestiture of enterprise reform, and the inventory of four economic and general units), the decline was 1.1 percentage points narrower than that from January to April.

From January to May, the total profit of the manufacturing industry was 1951.94 billion billion yuan, down 4.1 percent. From January to May, among the 41 major industrial industries, the total profits of 26 industries increased year-on-year, and 15 industries decreased. The total profit of the textile industry above designated size was 39.11 billion billion yuan, up 3.2 percent. The total profit of textile, clothing and apparel industry above designated size was 30.79 billion billion yuan, down 1.3 percent. The leather, fur, feather and its products and footwear industries above designated size achieved a total profit of 25.25 billion billion yuan, up 7.0 percent. The total profit of the chemical fiber manufacturing industry above designated size was 10.72 billion billion yuan, down 16.6 percent.
