On May 14, the 4-day Frankfurt Industrial Textiles and Nonwovens Exhibition (Techtextil) and Textile and Flexible Materials Processing Trade Exhibition (Texprocess) opened at the Frankfurt Exhibition Center. According to the statistics of Frankfurt exhibition company, the two exhibitions attracted 1818 enterprises from 59 countries and regions. Among them, 1501 exhibitors from 57 countries and regions participated in the Techtextil exhibition, and 317 exhibitors from 34 countries and regions participated in the Texprocess exhibition.

This year, the degree of internationalization of the Techtextil exhibition has been further improved, with 421 exhibitors from Germany and 1080 exhibitors from outside Germany. The international level of the exhibition has reached 70%. The top five exhibitors after Germany are Italy (134), China (113), France (103), Switzerland (63) and the United Kingdom (62). The two exhibitions were held at the same time, bringing the latest international technology research and development results and application cases to the audience, forming a more obvious collaborative innovation and communication effect, and the scale of the exhibition also reached a record high.

The theme of this year's Techtextil exhibition is "city life-the city of the future". From aviation to land, from health to medical care, from construction to water conservancy, from sports to protection ...... People's daily life, industrial textiles are widely used in various fields everywhere, so the theme of this year's exhibition is also explained as "there is no city life without textile", that is, "textile everywhere".

As the leading professional trade show in the global industrial textile industry, the exhibition shows the latest international industrial and non-woven technologies, products and applications in related fields from fiber raw materials, yarns, technologies and finished products, and shows the audience how industrial textiles shape urban life from many fields.

According to a study by the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, by 2050, nearly 70% of the world's population will live in metropolises, which will bring new changes in population mobility, living space, health care and so on. In cooperation with Creative Holland and creative agencies, the exhibition shows the new concept of future urban life through the theme of "urban life-the city of the future.

Studio Samira Boon is a textile architecture studio based in Amsterdam and Tokyo, which conducts concept research, material development, design solutions and the creation of new textile solutions by working with forward-looking customers. The studio exhibited sustainable architectural design, using plant bionics and 3D textile devices. The building is able to change shape by automatically reacting to stimuli through sensor technology. This robot textile creature's garden resembles nature in the built environment and can perform a variety of intelligent functions such as ultraviolet control to cope with the changing environment and improve people's living space, creating a flexible and dynamic built space environment.

Circular economy and sustainable development is also one of the hot spots of this year's exhibition. Studio Simone Post works with Adidas to crush and granulate used sneakers into carpets.

Denimx recycles waste textiles and presses textile fibers and bio-based plastics into templates to become the basic materials for new products, which can be used not only for car body parts, but also for the production of personalized household products such as lamps and tables and chairs. The company is also working with the Dutch Ministry of Defense, Arnhem University of Applied Sciences (HAN) and other institutions to regenerate old military uniforms into new electronic motorcycle shell materials with elements of the Dutch army. Prototypes of these fabric fairings were rigorously test-driven at the "Zwarte Cross" motocross in Lichtenvoorde, the Netherlands, proving their functionality on motorcycles.

Techtextil and Texprocess exhibitions, with the reputation of gathering high and new technologies, show their strong high-tech innovation ability on this platform.

Sweden's Coloreel company has introduced a yarn continuous dyeing embroidery technology that took 10 years to develop. Starting from a single axis of white embroidery thread, the system software calculates according to the embroidery task pattern, and directly embroideries the pattern after continuous dyeing in the equipment, thus realizing continuous processing without changing threads, breaking through the traditional process. It is reported that the technical equipment will be first listed on the European market from June to July this year.
