From May 9 to 10, the 11th round of Sino-US economic and trade consultations is being held in the United States. On May 10, however, the U.S. raised tariffs on $200 billion of Chinese goods to the U.S. from 10 percent to 25 percent.
At 12:03 on May 10, Beijing time, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce made a statement on the formal implementation of the US tariff increase, saying: The US has raised the tariff on US $200 billion of Chinese goods exported to the US from 10% to 25%. China deeply regrets this and will have to take necessary countermeasures. The eleventh round of high-level Sino-US economic and trade consultations is underway. It is hoped that the United States and China will meet each other and work together to resolve existing problems through cooperation and consultation.
