The 125th China Import and Export Fair (hereinafter referred to as the "Canton Fair") opened in Guangzhou today. At the opening press conference held on the 14th, Xu Bing, spokesperson of the Canton Fair and deputy director of the China Foreign Trade Center, revealed that the 125th Canton Fair has a total exhibition area of 1.185 million square meters, a total of 60651 booths, and 25496 domestic and foreign exhibitors.

Xu Bing said that the current Canton Fair will be in accordance with the principle of combining professional exhibition areas and target markets to accurately carry out global marketing and promotion.

The exhibition scale of the 125th Canton Fair remained stable and the overall pattern remained unchanged. The first phase will be held from April 15 to 19, mainly exhibiting electronics and household appliances, lighting, vehicles and accessories, machinery, hardware tools, building materials, chemicals and energy products; the second phase will be held from April 23 to 27, mainly exhibiting daily consumer goods, gifts and home decoration products; the third phase will be held from May 1 to 5, it mainly displays textile and clothing, shoes, office bags and leisure products, medicine and health care, and food products.

Among them, the export exhibition has 51 exhibition areas according to 16 categories of commodities, with 24846 exhibitors, including 2296 brand enterprises, with a product update rate of more than 30%. Exhibitors with independent intellectual property rights, independent brands, and independent marketing networks and high-tech, high-value-added, green and low-carbon exhibitors have increased significantly.

"Private enterprises have become the main force of my country's foreign trade. Last year, private enterprises accounted for 48% of the country's foreign trade exports, and the foreign trade quality of private enterprises has improved significantly." Xu Bing introduced that among the exhibitors in this Canton Fair, 21126 private enterprises, accounting for 85.03 percent, have become the largest exhibitors of the Canton Fair.

A new round of Canton Fair Export Product Design Award selection activities and Canton Fair product design series activities will also be launched to guide enterprises to strengthen design and research and develop new advantages in foreign trade competition. About 100 excellent design institutions from 15 countries and regions will participate in the design exhibition, provide design services for participating enterprises, and help improve the design level of Chinese enterprises and made in China.

This year's Canton Fair will continue to set up import exhibitions in the first and third phases, with a total exhibition area of 20000 square meters, a total of 6 product areas and a total of 1000 booths. The quality of the import exhibition has been further improved. Many industry benchmarks and international leading companies from the electronics and home appliances, building materials and hardware, machinery and equipment, food and beverage industries from the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan and other countries participated in the exhibition. Enterprises from countries and regions along the "Belt and Road" are the largest exhibitors of the import exhibition. A total of 383 enterprises from 21 countries and regions along the route participated in the exhibition, accounting for 60%.

Xu Bing said that this year's Canton Fair will also take the release of the ''Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Development Plan Outline'' as an opportunity to hold an international cooperation and exchange meeting for import exhibitions, and organize relevant commercial departments in the Greater Bay Area, foreign consulates in Guangzhou, domestic and foreign associations, Overseas trade promotion agencies and overseas exhibition cooperation agencies jointly seek business opportunities for cooperation and promote the integration and exchange of business resources inside and outside the Greater Bay Area.

　It is estimated that 770 enterprises from poor areas will participate in the exhibition free of charge.

This session of the Canton Fair to further increase poverty alleviation efforts, to take pragmatic measures to further promote the business precision poverty alleviation.

Among them, booth fees for all exhibitors in poverty-stricken areas will continue to be waived. It is expected that 770 enterprises from 22 provinces and cities will participate in the exhibition free of charge, covering 45 exhibition areas.

At the same time, we will continue to set up exhibition areas for special products in poor areas. With an exhibition area of 1710 square meters and 190 booths, enterprises from 22 provinces and cities participated in the exhibition, displaying clothing, bags, food and other special products. On the first day of the third phase, a special promotion activity will be held to promote the enterprises and products in the exhibition area free of charge, so as to further enhance the exhibition effect of the exhibition area of characteristic products in poor areas.

"In order to help enterprises reduce their costs, this Canton Fair will continue to charge booth fees for all exhibitors according to the 119th reduced standard, continue to reduce the costs of 23 on-site service items, lay carpets uniformly free of charge, and effectively reduce the burden and fees for enterprises." Xu Bing said.

This session of the Canton Fair will continue to further promote the construction of the Smart Canton Fair and accelerate the digital transformation of the Canton Fair. Xu Bing said that the mobile phone terminal will be activated to submit transaction statistics, and exhibitors can fill in the transaction situation on that day through WeChat applet.

In addition, the improvement of the accreditation system, the introduction of face recognition technology, and the pilot use of a new type of "non-contact" IC card verification machine have made the entry verification process more convenient and efficient.
