Environmental protection "fierce as a tiger", a large number of small factories or will withdraw from the market
At present, the textile industry has become the "hardest hit area" of environmental protection. China's manufacturing industry is largely due to the low prices of the overall industry. With such rectification, textile enterprises, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, are indeed facing unprecedented pressure this year. It can be said that many enterprises are on the front line of life and death. After this year's strict environmental protection investigation, many enterprises are closing down or hovering on the edge of life and death. Some enterprises are muddling along, while others are transforming and upgrading. Many factories have recently been shut down due to environmental protection problems.
Xiao Chen of Suzhou Soochow Weaving said that due to environmental protection and spray reduction, if our enterprise wants to continue production and operation, it needs to reduce another 6 machines according to regulations and must move out before the end of the month. From the beginning of 2018 to now, we have removed 15 machines, and we don't know how many more next year.
From this point of view, this year, the intensity of going to "small, scattered, and chaotic" factories has not been reduced. If this continues, a large number of small factories will withdraw from market competition.
High labor costs, heavy burden on textile enterprises
China's traditional textiles are labor-intensive industrial chain. There used to be cheap labor and excellent product quality, which made Chinese textiles famous at home and abroad. Now the labor cost is getting higher and higher. The post-80s and post-90s would rather choose 3500 clerks than be 8000 factory workers. The age structure of factory workers is aging, and the advantage of cheap labor is gradually disappearing.

The cost of weaving enterprises is getting higher and higher, and the burden is getting heavier and heavier. This part of the cost will be passed on to textiles. The increase in textile prices will also be a long-term trend. Textile enterprises at a price disadvantage in the competition will inevitably be greatly injured. Small factories may face the embarrassing situation of high costs and unsalable products!
Under the double-sided attack of environmental protection and high cost, where should textile enterprises go? As a textile town adjacent to Taihu Lake, how can Shengze seek better development in the "iron law" of environmental protection?
Jiangsu and Zhejiang Textile Enterprises Enter the Park to Upgrade
In recent years, Shengze Town has encouraged small-scale and scattered enterprises to move to industrial parks and industrial agglomeration areas, and completed standardized renovation work. Encourage existing water jet loom enterprises to upgrade and gradually replace water jet looms with low-pollution warp knitting, knitting, high-grade air jet loom and other equipment. Encourage existing water jet loom enterprises to eliminate old looms through equipment technical transformation, increase investment in environmental protection, reduce production wastewater emissions, and improve the level of enterprises, to achieve the promotion of a number of high-quality enterprises.
To this end, Wujiang has established a textile circular economy park. It is understood that the construction site of Wujiang Textile Circular Economy Park is located in Zhuangping Village, Shengze Town, with a tentative construction period of 8 years. The industrial park will set up production areas, living areas and logistics areas respectively to realize the integration of spinning, weaving, printing and dyeing, finishing, thermoelectric and sewage (sludge) disposal, so as to achieve centralized water supply, centralized reuse, centralized heating, centralized sewage discharge and centralized disposal, so as to achieve the purposes of wastewater reuse after treatment, waste cloth regeneration and granulation, power plant waste heat steam supply, sludge drying and incineration, and resource recycling. After the completion of the industrial park, it is expected that the industrial added value of relevant enterprises will increase by more than 15% annually, the emission of major pollutants will be reduced by 15%, and the energy consumption of 10,000 yuan of industrial added value will be reduced by 10%.
Environmental Supervision Promotes Enterprise Transformation
In a round of environmental supervision, small-scale enterprises can choose to move into the textile economic cycle park, but medium and large enterprises are gradually carrying out industrial transformation and upgrading to adapt to this era of environmental protection.
Lantian Weaving is a large-scale textile enterprise in Pingwang. At the beginning of the environmental protection spray reduction campaign, there were 154 self-sealing water jet looms. Chen Yuping, the boss of the company, explained the reason: "on the one hand, it supports the work of the government, and on the other hand, the enterprise itself is carrying out technological transformation." Chen Yuping said that three or four years ago, the company began to phase out outdated production capacity and introduce advanced equipment. While increasing production capacity, it also contributed to environmental protection.
Haohui Textile, located in Meiyan Union Village, has more than 300 water jet looms at most. In the process of development, most of the water jet looms were eliminated, and the remaining part was also taken over with Meiyan sewage treatment station, which solved the environmental protection problem. In recent years, Haohui Textile has shifted its development focus to the weft knitting industry, with more than 400 weft knitting large circular machines and more than 50 warp knitting machines. Under the transformation and upgrading, the enterprise has a very promising prospect.
Hong Guomin, chairman of Haohui Textile, said: "The output of one warp knitting and weft knitting machine can be worth the output of at least five water jet looms, and the benefits are naturally obvious. In comparison, the quality of warp knitting and weft knitting fabrics is much better than water jet fabrics, and stretch fabrics can be made in the future."
With the passage of time, more and more enterprises pay attention to transformation and upgrading, not to evade environmental protection inspectors, but to develop in a better direction.
