China Textile Import and Export Chamber of Commerce disclosed on the 9th that China's textile and clothing exports resumed rapid growth in May. In terms of US dollars, China's textile and clothing exports increased by 20.36 year-on-year and 24% month-on-month in May, both higher than the national trade in goods.

Since mid-to-late May, the epidemic in the main producing areas of China's textile and clothing has gradually improved, and with the help of stable foreign trade policies, localities have actively promoted the resumption of work and production and opened up the logistics supply chain. In the case of stable external demand, the early blocked export volume has been fully released, pulling the month of textile and clothing exports to resume rapid growth.

China's textile and clothing exports are calculated in RMB: from January to May 2022, textile and clothing exports totaled 797.47 billion yuan, an increase of 9.06 percent over the same period last year (the same below). Among them, textile exports were 400.72 billion yuan, up 10.01 percent, and clothing exports were 396.75 billion yuan, up 8.12 percent.

In May, textile and garment exports were 187.2 billion billion yuan, up 18.38 percent, up 24.54 percent from the previous month. Among them, textile exports were 89.84 billion billion yuan, up 13.97 percent, up 15.03 percent from the previous month, and clothing exports were 97.36 billion billion yuan, up 22.76 percent, up 34.83 percent from the previous month.

China's textile and clothing exports in US dollars: From January to May 2022, textile and clothing exports totaled US $125.067 billion, an increase of 11.18 percent, of which textile exports were US $62.851 billion, an increase of 12.14 percent, and clothing exports were US $62.216 billion, an increase of 10.22 percent.

In May, textile and clothing exports 29.227 billion US dollars, up 20.36 percent, up 23.89 percent month on month, of which textile exports 14.028 billion US dollars, up 15.76 percent, up 14.43 percent month on month, and clothing exports 15.199 billion US dollars, up 24.93 percent, up 34.12 percent month on month.

In the first quarter of 2022, the economic operation of China's textile industry is gradually under pressure.
