Operation of China's Industrial Textiles Industry in the First Three Quarters of 2021

In the first three quarters of 2021, China's industrial textile industry has returned to normal operation from the rapid growth in 2020. Affected by the high base in the same period in 2020, the industrial value added of enterprises above the scale of China's industrial textiles industry continued to decline from January to September 2021, down 21.0 percent, but the two-year average growth rate is still 12.3 percent.

Affected by the high base in the same period in 2020, the industrial value added of enterprises above the scale of China's industrial textiles industry continued to decline from January to September 2021, down 21.0 percent, but the two-year average growth rate is still 12.3 percent.
In terms of production, the output of non-woven fabrics of enterprises above designated size reached 4.4764 million tons from January to September, down 1.01 percent from the same period last year; the output of cord fabric was 611700 tons, up 29.71 percent from the same period last year.

In terms of economic benefits,From January to September, the operating income of enterprises above designated size in the industrial textiles industry fell 14.74 percent year-on-year, with an average growth of 10.78 percent in two years, total profits fell 63.78 percent year-on-year, with an average growth of 14.12 percent in two years, and the operating profit margin was 5.25 percent, down 7.11 percentage points year-on-year. In terms of fields, the operating income and total profit of the nonwovens industry decreased by 23.94 and 74.69 respectively, and the operating profit margin was 5.13, down 10.29 percentage points from the same period last year; the operating income and total profit of the rope, rope and cable industries increased by 11.43 and 7.87 respectively, and the operating profit margin was 4.15, down 0.14 percentage points from the same period last year; the textile belt and curtain fabric market developed well, operating income and total profit increased by 21.19 per cent and 99.46 per cent respectively over the same period last year, with operating profit margin of 5.49 per cent, up 2.15 percentage points over the same period last year; operating income and total profit of awnings and canvases increased by 26.06 per cent and 22.49 per cent respectively over the same period last year, with operating profit margin of 5.88 per cent being the highest in the industry; the operating income and total profit of other industrial textiles where medical and health, filtration, and geotechnical textiles are located fell by 24.56 and 66.46, respectively, and the operating profit margin was 5.39, a year-on-year decrease of 6.73 percentage points.

In terms of listed companies,In the third quarter, the operating income of 31 listed companies in the industry decreased by 1.15 year-on-year, and the total profit decreased by 33.59 year-on-year. Among them, the listed companies in the field of automotive textiles and filtration textiles have a good momentum of development.
In international trade,From the main export products of the industry, the value of non-woven fabrics, special yarns, threads, ropes, ropes, cables and their products (Chapter 56 products of the General Classification of Customs Commodities) from January to September was 6.23 billion US dollars, up 6.91 per cent year on year, of which the export of non-woven fabrics was 3.434 billion US dollars, down 4.52 per cent year on year, and the export volume was 1.0475 million tons, up 8.06 per cent year on year; the export value of industrial textiles (products of Chapter 59 of the General Classification of Customs Commodities) was 6.655 billion billion US dollars, up 39.74 per cent year on year. In terms of the export of epidemic prevention materials, the export of chemical fiber nonwoven protective clothing (including medical protective clothing) was 1.911 billion US dollars, down 79.81 percent year-on-year, while the export of unlisted textile products (including masks) was 9.908 billion US dollars, down 79.42 percent year-on-year. Since the outbreak of the new crown pneumonia, China has provided the international community with about 350 billion masks and more than 4 billion pieces of protective clothing.
At present, the global epidemic is still in a tense situation, the domestic epidemic is also showing a trend of multi-point distribution, coupled with some parts of the domestic "limited power production", the industry's main raw material prices continue to rise, high international shipping prices and other adverse factors, industrial textiles industry enterprises will still face greater operating pressure. In the fourth quarter, due to the continuous influence of the base effect, the main economic indicators in the field of epidemic prevention materials in the industrial textile industry will still be in the downward range, and the economic quality and efficiency in the field of non epidemic prevention materials will continue to improve; the production growth rate of the industry will enter the downward channel; the export of epidemic prevention materials such as masks and protective clothing will continue to decline, and the export of non epidemic prevention materials will maintain a good growth.
