As a kind of green environmental protection material with renewable resources such as starch agricultural products as raw materials, polylactic acid material can be degraded into carbon dioxide and water after use. It has the potential to replace traditional petroleum-based polymer materials. It has been mature and applied in the fields of plastics, films, foaming materials, etc. It is one of the most mature, largest and most widely used bio-based and biodegradable plastics in industrialization, it can effectively alleviate the dependence on petrochemical resources and reduce the problem of white pollution.

Ban plastic limit to promote the vigorous development of polylactic acid
In 2019, the global PLA production capacity was 292700 tons, accounting for 25.0 of the global biodegradable plastics production capacity. Driven by favorable policies such as the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan for Scientific and Technological Innovation in the Material Field", "Opinions on Further Strengthening the Control of Plastic Pollution", and the National Key R & D Plan, my country's polylactic acid material industry is showing a vigorous development trend. Modification research has developed rapidly, providing a good technical foundation for expanding the scope of application from the raw material level.
In December 2018, the EU passed the "2021 abolition of disposable products" bill. But this sudden neo-crowning epidemic has put an end to these impending changes. In order to prevent the spread of the epidemic, disposable gloves and masks have been regarded as "star" products, which have been produced on a large scale in billions of units, and the resulting environmental problems have gradually attracted attention.
However, China's polylactic acid industry currently has problems such as limited monomer preparation technology, high product cost, insufficient market competitiveness, and weak foundation for industrialization and downstream application development.
"Discard" products have the most potential
Therefore, the focus of future research on polylactic acid will be to improve the synthesis process, produce relatively high molecular weight polylactic acid, simplify the process, in order to reduce its production costs, and ultimately produce a variety of products that can meet the needs of consumers to provide the corresponding raw materials. In order to give full play to its degradable characteristics, the development direction of polylactic acid products should be the application research of "disposable" products. The medical and health polylactic acid spun-melt nonwoven material is the most potential product variety and has great development space.
Spunbond polylactic acid, the best combination
Spunbonded nonwoven process has the characteristics of short process, high output and convenient development of new products. Products have been widely used in the field of "disposable" products such as personal care and medical protection. To maximize this characteristic of spunbonded process, reduce the production cost of spunbonded non-woven fabrics and use new technology to produce differentiated products are the key needs of users for equipment and process development.
The two-component spunbond process is derived from the composite spinning technology of synthetic fibers, which is conducive to the development of more composite spinning technology suitable for spunbond nonwovens to meet the needs of spunbond nonwovens product performance. It is the direction of efforts of various equipment research and development enterprises at home and abroad.
