Authoritative release of the economic operation of China's industrial textile industry in 2020

In 2020, in the face of the sudden outbreak of new crown pneumonia, China's industrial textile enterprises to respond quickly, the courage to take responsibility, fully into masks, protective clothing, disinfection wipes and other epidemic prevention materials production security work, driving the entire industry's production, sales, exports and profits increased significantly. According to the data of the National Bureau of Statistics, the industrial added value of enterprises above designated size in China's industrial textile industry will increase by 54.1 in 2020.

In terms of production,Nonwovens are the main raw materials for masks, protective clothing and disinfection wipes. The output of nonwovens in enterprises above designated size reached 5.791 million tons throughout the year, an increase of 15.8 percent over the same period last year.

In terms of economic benefits,In 2020, the total operating income and profits of enterprises above the scale of China's industrial textiles industry were 319.84 billion yuan and 36.53 billion yuan, respectively, up 32.6 percent and 203.2 percent year-on-year, and the operating profit margin was 11.4 percent, an increase of 6.4 percentage points over the same period last year.

In terms of fields, the operating income and total profits of non-woven fabric enterprises above designated size in 2020 will reach 175.28 billion yuan and 24.52 billion yuan respectively, up 54% and 328.1 respectively from the same period last year, with an operating profit margin of 14%, up 9 percentage points from the same period last year. The operating income and total profits of other industrial textiles where medical and health, filtration and geotechnical textiles are located increased by 35.4 and 175.1 respectively, with an operating profit margin of 12.3.

Operating income from ropes, ropes and cables, which are not highly related to epidemic prevention materials, increased by 6.9 per cent year-on-year, while total profits decreased by 3.3 per cent year-on-year; operating income and total profits from textile belts and cord fabrics decreased by 11.8 per cent and 18.2 per cent year-on-year, respectively; and operating income and total profits from awnings and canvases increased by 5.3 per cent and 16.5 per cent year-on-year, respectively.

In international trade,In 2020, China exported 1.289 million tons of nonwovens, worth $5.05 billion billion, up 32.2 percent and 62.5 percent year-on-year, respectively. The export of disposable sanitary products such as diapers and sanitary napkins was 2.27 billion billion US dollars, up 8.6 percent year on year. From March 2020 to the end of 2020, China has exported 224.2 billion masks to the world, including 65 billion medical masks, and 2.31 billion pieces of export protective clothing, including 0.773 billion pieces of medical protective clothing. The annual export value of masks and protective clothing is about 63.5 billion US dollars.
