Indonesia imposes temporary safeguard tax on imported fabrics

On 6 November 2019, the WTO Committee on Safeguards published the Safeguards Notification submitted to it by the Delegation of Indonesia on 5 November 2019. The Indonesian Safeguards Committee on Imported Fabrics (Fabrics) has made a preliminary ruling on safeguard measures, proposing to impose a temporary safeguard tax on the products involved, see the attached table (Temporary Safeguards Tax Collection Form), which is valid for 200 days. The above-mentioned safeguard measures are not applicable to the products imported from the Macao Special Administrative Region of China.

On September 20, 2019, in response to the application submitted by the Indonesian Textile Association on September 18, 2019, the Indonesian Safeguards Committee initiated a safeguard investigation on imported fabrics. The survey period is from 2016 to 2018.
