According to the national cotton market monitoring system, China's total cotton output will reach 6.16 million tons in 2019, up 0.9 percent from the same period last year, while Xinjiang's new cotton output is expected to reach 5.266 million tons, accounting for more than 85 percent of the country's output. At present, as Xinjiang's cotton enters the harvest season, this year's cotton purchase price market has generally shown a stable trend.

At present, as Xinjiang's cotton enters the harvest season, this year's cotton purchase price market has generally shown a stable trend.

It is understood that at present, the purchase price of Korla's first seed cotton is generally 5.3-5.7 yuan per kilogram, down 1.5 yuan from last year, but Xinjiang Autonomous region still enjoys the state's target price subsidy of 18600 yuan per ton of lint this year, which gives local cotton farmers reassurance.

Liu Huiqin, a cotton farmer in Yuli County, Korla, Xinjiang, calculated such an account: no matter what the selling price of cotton is, plus subsequent price subsidies, the actual lint per ton is 18600 yuan. Since there is no major natural disaster this year, her family's cotton yield per mu is close to 400kg, and the gross income per mu is close to 3000 yuan. After removing the cost of cotton planting and harvesting, one mu of land can earn nearly 700 yuan this year.

She said that compared with last year's cotton yield of 200kg or even 150kg in many local cotton farmers, this year's cotton yield and quality are good, and the income of cotton farmers is naturally much better.
