Despite the US government's escalation of tariff threats against China, American clothing and footwear manufacturers have recently unanimously stated that they welcome goods from China as always.

During the Las Vegas International Shoe Show held a few days ago, Matt Priest, chairman of the American Footwear Wholesalers and Retailers Association, strongly opposed the imposition of tariffs on footwear products. Finding alternatives to "Made in China" is not a viable option, Priest said. He explained that shoe-making is a labor-intensive industry, while paying attention to design and details. China's shoe-making industry has accumulated rich experience in this regard and has established a complete ecology. Therefore, if manufacturers want to leave China, they have to face a series of problems, such as moving production lines, finding new partners, quality control and so on, which are difficult to solve in a short time.

Rick Hellfenby, president of the American Federation of Clothing, Shoes and Hosiery, said that 41% of clothing, 72% of shoes and 84% of accessories in the US market come from China. American consumers attach great importance to quality, safety, durability and other issues, while China has accumulated rich experience in these areas, which is unmatched by other countries.
