In the first May, China's total import and export value of 12.1 trillion yuan increased by 4.1

According to customs statistics, in the first five months of this year, the total value of my country's import and export of goods trade was 12.1 trillion yuan, an increase of 4.1 over the same period last year (the same below). Among them, exports of 6.5 trillion yuan, an increase of 6.1; imports of 5.6 trillion yuan, an increase of 1.8; trade surplus of 893.36 billion yuan, an increase of 45%.
According to customs statistics, in the first five months of this year, the total value of my country's import and export of goods trade was 12.1 trillion yuan, an increase of 4.1 over the same period last year (the same below). Among them, exports of 6.5 trillion yuan, an increase of 6.1; imports of 5.6 trillion yuan, an increase of 1.8; trade surplus of 893.36 billion yuan, an increase of 45%.
In May, the total value of China's imports and exports was 2.59 trillion billion yuan, up 2.9 percent. Among them, exports were 1.43 trillion yuan, up 7.7 percent; imports were 1.16 trillion yuan, down 2.5 percent; and the trade surplus was 279.12 billion yuan, up 89.8 percent.
In US dollar terms, in the first five months, China's total import and export value was 1.79 trillion US dollars, down 1.6 per cent. Of this total, exports were $958.34 billion, up 0.4 per cent; imports were $827.87 billion, down 3.7 per cent; and the trade surplus was $130.47 billion, up 38.3 per cent.
In May, the total value of China's imports and exports was 386.03 billion billion US dollars, down 3.4 per cent. Of this total, exports were $213.84 billion, up 1.1 per cent; imports were $172.19 billion, down 8.5 per cent; and the trade surplus was $41.65 billion, up 77.9 per cent.
In the first five months, China's foreign trade import and export mainly showed the following characteristics:
1. general trade grew rapidly and increased its share. In the first five months, my country's general trade imports and exports totaled 7.25 trillion billion yuan, an increase of 6.1 percent, accounting for 59.9 percent of China's total foreign trade value, an increase of 1.1 percentage points over the same period last year. Among them, exports were 3.82 trillion yuan, up 10.3 percent; imports were 3.43 trillion yuan, up 1.7 percent; and the trade surplus was 391.78 billion yuan, up 3.2 times. In the same period, the import and export of processing trade was 3.02 trillion yuan, down 2.4 percent, accounting for 24.9 percent, or 1.7 percentage points. Among them, exports were 1.92 trillion yuan, down 1.5 percent; imports were 1.1 trillion yuan, down 4.1 percent; and the trade surplus was 818.18 billion yuan, up 2.2 percent.
In addition, China's import and export of 1.39 trillion yuan in the form of bonded logistics increased by 9.9, accounting for 11.5 of China's total foreign trade value. Among them, exports of 448.55 billion yuan, an increase of 12.3; imports of 943.79 billion yuan, an increase of 8.7.
2. imports and exports to major markets such as the European Union, ASEAN and Japan increased, and imports and exports to countries along the "Belt and Road" grew faster than the overall. In the first five months, the EU was my country's largest trading partner. The total value of China-EU trade was 1.9 trillion billion yuan, an increase of 11.7 percent, accounting for 15.7 percent of my country's total foreign trade value. Among them, exports to the EU were 1.13 trillion yuan, an increase of 14.2 percent; imports from the EU were 764.9 billion yuan, an increase of 8.3 percent; and the trade surplus with Europe was 369.51 billion yuan, an increase of 28.7 percent. ASEAN is China's second largest trading partner, with a total trade value of 1.63 trillion billion yuan, an increase of 9.4 percent, accounting for 13.5 percent of China's total foreign trade value. Among them, exports to ASEAN were 913.02 billion yuan, an increase of 12.9 percent; imports from ASEAN were 715.63 billion yuan, an increase of 5.2 percent; and the trade surplus with ASEAN was 197.39 billion yuan, an increase of 53.7 percent.
In the first five months, the United States was my country's third largest trading partner. The total value of Sino-US trade was 1.42 trillion billion yuan, a decrease of 9.6 percent, accounting for 11.7 percent of my country's total foreign trade value. Among them, exports to the United States were 1.09 trillion yuan, down 3.2 percent; imports from the United States were 335.27 billion yuan, down 25.7 percent; and the trade surplus with the United States was 750.62 billion yuan, an increase of 11.9 percent. Japan is China's fourth largest trading partner, with a total trade value of 846.9 billion billion yuan, an increase of 0.9 percent, accounting for 7 percent of China's total foreign trade value. Among them, exports to Japan were 389.34 billion yuan, up 3.8 percent; imports from Japan were 457.56 billion yuan, down 1.4 percent; and the trade deficit with Japan was 68.22 billion yuan, narrowing 23.3 percent. In the same period, China's imports and exports to countries along the "Belt and Road Initiative" route totaled 3.49 trillion billion yuan, an increase of 9 percent, 4.9 percentage points higher than the overall national growth rate, accounting for 28.8 percent of China's total foreign trade value, and the proportion increased by 1.3 percentage points.
The import and export of 3. private enterprises increased rapidly, and their proportion increased. In the first five months, the import and export of private enterprises totaled 5.02 trillion billion yuan, an increase of 11.1 percent, accounting for 41.4 percent of China's total foreign trade value, an increase of 2.6 percentage points over the same period last year. Among them, exports were 3.28 trillion billion yuan, an increase of 13.8 percent, accounting for 50.4 percent of the total export value; imports were 1.74 trillion billion yuan, an increase of 6.3 percent, accounting for 31 percent of the total import value. During the same period, the import and export of foreign-invested enterprises was 4.9 trillion yuan, down 1.2 percent, accounting for 40.5 percent of China's total foreign trade value. Among them, exports were 2.58 trillion yuan, up 0.5 percent, while imports were 2.32 trillion yuan, down 3 percent.
In addition, the import and export of state-owned enterprises was 2.14 trillion yuan, an increase of 1.4 percent, accounting for 17.7 percent of China's total foreign trade value. Of this total, exports were 637.51 billion yuan, down 5.9 percent, while imports were 1.5 trillion yuan, up 4.9 percent.
4. exports of mechanical and electrical products and labor-intensive products maintained growth. In the first five months, China's exports of mechanical and electrical products totaled 3.8 trillion billion yuan, an increase of 5.1 percent, accounting for 58.4 percent of the total export value. Among them, electrical and electronic products exports 1.7 trillion yuan, an increase of 6.3; machinery and equipment 1.14 trillion yuan, an increase of 4.1. In the same period, clothing exports were 348.06 billion yuan, down 0.2 percent; textiles were 327.68 billion yuan, up 7.3 percent; furniture was 148.33 billion yuan, up 9.6 percent; footwear was 121.87 billion yuan, up 5.8 percent; plastic products were 124.13 billion yuan, up 18.6 percent; luggage was 70.91 billion yuan, up 7.7 percent; toys were 64.8 billion yuan, up 30.1 percent; and the total export of the seven categories of labor-intensive products was 1.21 trillion yuan, up 7.2 percent, 18.6 per cent of total exports. In addition, steel exports 29.09 million tons, an increase of 2.5; 440000 cars, an increase of 2.1.
5. imports of crude oil, natural gas and other commodities increased, soybean imports decreased, and the average import price of bulk commodities rose and fell. In the first five months, my country imported 0.424 billion tons of iron ore, a decrease of 5.2 percent, and the average import price was 570.6 yuan per ton, an increase of 24.8 percent; crude oil 0.205 billion tons, an increase of 7.7 percent, and the average import price was 3232.1 yuan per ton, an increase of 2.7 percent; coal 0.127 billion tons, an increase of 5.6 percent, and the average import price was 527.5 yuan per ton, a decrease of 4.8 percent; natural gas 39.43 million tons, an increase of 13.4 percent, the average import price was 3096.6 yuan per ton, up 23%; 31.75 million tons of soybeans, down 12.2; the average import price was 2819.6 yuan per ton, up 3.4; 14.79 million tons of refined oil, up 3.7; the average import price was 3719.7 yuan per ton, up 2.2; 14.91 million tons of primary plastic, up 12.3; the average import price was 10100 yuan per ton, down 9.9; 4.88 million tons of steel, it decreased by 13.4 per cent, with the average import price of 8172.8 yuan per ton, up 1.5 per cent, and 1.95 million tons of unwrought copper and copper, down 9.4 per cent, with the average import price of 45400 yuan per ton, down 3.9 per cent.
In addition, imports of mechanical and electrical products 2.38 trillion yuan, down 2.6. Among them, 157.98 billion integrated circuits, down 6%, 766.78 billion yuan in value, down 2.3 percent; 440000 cars, down 5.2 percent, 133.63 billion yuan in value, down 0.8 percent.
