Compared with the last interpretation of the standard of medical surgical masks, protective masks have relatively higher requirements. This standard is applicable to filtering particulate matter in the air and blocking droplets, blood, body fluids, secretions and other self-priming filtering medical protective masks under medical working environment.
Like surgical masks, protective masks also have certain requirements in appearance, such as adjustable nose clips, and mask straps that can withstand a certain amount of tension. In addition, microbiological indicators, ethylene oxide residue, resistance, skin irritation are similar to surgical masks.
The difference with surgical masks is filtration. The filtering condition for protective masks is to test non-oily particles under the condition of gas flow rate of 85L/min.(NaCl aerosol for experimental conditions)The filtration efficiency shall meet the requirements of the following table:

Under the above gas flow, the suction resistance of the mask shall not exceed 35 mmH2O.
