Focus on 10 aspects of work:
First, pay close attention to the implementation of policies and strengthen policy reserves.
Second, we will steadily promote the construction of a strong trade country and make every effort to promote the steady and quality improvement of foreign trade.
The third is to seek truth and be pragmatic, and strive to promote the high-quality development of foreign trade.
The fourth is to further develop diversified markets and optimize the layout of the international market.
Fifth, reform and improve cross-border e-commerce and other new business support policies, and actively cultivate new trade new business models.
Six is to promote the transformation and upgrading of processing trade, improve the level of industrial chain.
Seventh, actively expand imports and optimize the import structure.
Eight is to vigorously promote the development of border trade. Nine is to continuously improve the level of trade facilitation.
Ten is to continue to deepen the reform of the foreign trade system.
Ren Hongbin, Assistant Minister of Commerce, pointed out at the meeting that China's total import and export volume reached a record high in 2018, continued to maintain its status as the world's largest trading country, and further enhanced its contribution to the national economy. At present, the environment facing China's foreign trade development is becoming more complex and severe, with greater uncertainty and more risks and challenges, so we must keep a clear understanding. At the same time, there is a foundation and conditions to achieve the goal of improving the quality of foreign trade. The national business system must dare to take responsibility and act actively, strive to complete the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee and the State Council on foreign trade work, and celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China with outstanding results. We will adhere to the general tone of seeking progress amidst stability, steadily promote the construction of a strong trade country, strive to promote the steady and quality improvement of foreign trade, and persist in promoting the high-quality development of foreign trade.
In addition, the head of the Foreign Trade Department of the Ministry of Commerce recently talked about the operation of China's foreign trade from January to February 2019.
According to customs statistics, imports and exports from January to February were 4.54 trillion yuan, up 0.7 percent year-on-year (the same below). Among them, exports were 2.43 trillion yuan, up 0.1 percent; imports were 2.12 trillion yuan, up 1.5 percent; and the surplus was 308.68 billion yuan, down 8.7 percent. (In dollar terms, from January to February, China's total import and export value was $662.72 billion, down 3.9 per cent. Exports were $353.21 billion, down 4.6 per cent; imports were $309.51 billion, down 3.1 per cent; and the trade surplus was $43.7 billion, down 13.6 per cent.)
From the international market layoutFrom January to February, China's exports to major markets such as the EU, ASEAN, Japan and South Korea increased by 7.5 percent, 7.0 percent, 3.7 percent and 9.8 percent, respectively. Imports and exports to countries along the "Belt and Road" totaled 1.28 trillion billion yuan, an increase of 2.4 percent, 1.7 percentage points higher than the overall growth rate, and the proportion of total foreign trade increased by 0.5 percentage points to 28.2 percent. China's exports and imports to the United States fell by 9.9 and 32.2, respectively.
From the perspective of the main businessFrom January to February, private enterprises exported 1.21 trillion billion yuan, an increase of 3.6 percent, accounting for 50 percent of the total export value, and continued to maintain their position as the largest business entity in exports. State-owned enterprises exported 239.59 billion billion yuan, down 5.7 percent. Foreign-invested enterprises exported 972.79 billion billion yuan, down 2.6 percent.
From the commodity structureThe export of mechanical and electrical products was 1.42 trillion yuan, down 0.4, accounting for 58.3. Among them, the export value of integrated circuits, computers and components increased by 28.6 and 7.9 respectively. Exports of seven categories of labor-intensive products, such as clothing and toys, were 467.14 billion billion yuan, down 3.9 percent.
From the trade modeFrom January to February, general trade exports increased by 3.6 per cent to 1.43 trillion billion yuan, up 1.8 percentage points to 58.9 per cent. Processing trade exports 727.13 billion yuan, down 4.9.
