He said that this achievement is mainly due to the optimization of bilateral trade structure. In 2016, the trade volume between China and Russia reached 69.52 billion billion US dollars, an increase of 2.2 percent over the previous year. In 2017, the figure reached $84.07 billion billion, up 20.8 percent year-on-year. While the trade volume of energy products is increasing, other commodities, especially a wide variety of agricultural products, are playing an increasingly important role in bilateral trade. It is estimated that the trade volume between China and Russia in 2018 is expected to exceed 110 billion US dollars.
