The supporting force for the steady development of the industry.
"The 40 years of reform and opening up have been a 40-year leap in the textile industry from scale to quality, including the upgrading of manufacturing capacity and the transformation and development of the industrial structure. The textile industry has grown from small to large, from large to strong, and has formed the largest and most complete industrial system in the world." Sun Ruizhe believes that in the past 40 years, the role of the textile industry as a pillar of the national economy has not changed. Statistics show that from 2001 to 2017, the net foreign exchange earnings of the textile industry accounted for more than 75% of my country's total trade surplus, making outstanding contributions to the smooth operation of the national economy and the rapid development of high-tech.
Sun Ruizhe said: "In the 40 years of reform and opening up, the textile industry has actively integrated into the trend of globalization and has grown into one of the industrial sectors with the highest degree of openness and internationalization in China. The opening of China's textile industry has witnessed the extension of the industry from product going out, production capacity going out to capital going out and brand going out. Nowadays, the investment of a large number of textile enterprises along the" Belt and Road "has witnessed the new pattern of the comprehensive opening and development of the textile industry. Data show that from 2013 to the first three quarters of 2017, the total investment of China's textile industry along the" Belt and Road "was 5.494 billion billion US dollars, accounting for about 84.71 of the total foreign investment of the textile industry in the same period."
Sun Ruizhe pointed out that with the switch from a planned economy to a market economy, reform and opening up have stimulated the vitality of the textile industry. In the 40 years of reform and opening up, the textile industry has grown into one of the most market-oriented industrial sectors in China, and private textile enterprises have become the backbone of supporting industrial development. In terms of capital composition, foreign and private capital account for more than 96%, while state-owned capital accounts for less than 4%.
The 40 years of reform and opening up are also the 40 years of innovation and development of the textile industry. The textile industry has always regarded science and technology as the primary productive force and continuously deepened independent innovation. Reviewing the landmark events of scientific and technological innovation in the textile industry, Sun Ruizhe said at the annual innovation conference: "In the past two years, our carbon fiber project has won the first prize of national scientific and technological progress; the digital factory has won the first prize of national scientific and technological progress... Every three to four years, the textile industry will have a project won the first prize of national scientific and technological progress. In addition, the textile industry is also very significant in the improvement of key product varieties and labor productivity. Our carbon fiber and other products have occupied 1/3 of the global production. There is also an important landmark figure, that is, the number of people employed in cotton spinning was 300 in the mid-1980s, but now it has been reduced to 50 to 60."
It is also reported that at this annual innovation conference, Sun Ruizhe's keynote speech report-"Great Changes and New Patterns: Trends and Prospects" resonated with the participating experts. Sun Ruizhe believes that China is forming a high-quality development pattern, a high-potential consumption pattern, a high-level opening pattern, a high-intensity innovation pattern, and a high-efficiency market pattern. Under the new situation, China's textile industry has accelerated its transition to the track of high-quality development and has become the backbone of maintaining the smooth operation of the economy, and its internal structure, operation logic and value model have undergone profound adjustments.
"In response to major changes, the industry needs to maintain its strength, stimulate vitality, and find a good position in the development coordinate system of technology and rules with a new perspective of scale, long-term, design, and boundaries." Sun Ruizhe said that it is necessary to adapt to changes, deepen industrial innovation with quality as the core, strengthen foreign cooperation with openness as the guide, build an industrial community with coordination as the landing point, promote fashion development based on culture, and improve social responsibility based on sustainability. "Technology, fashion, and green" will build a bright future for the industry.
